Mrs. Brose’s class used teamwork to complete a challenge and save Fred the worm. Fred’s boat capsized and the students had to put the lifesaver on Fred without touching the items with their hands. They could only use paperclips to touch the items. Students enjoyed this fun opportunity to work together.

Mrs. Hogan’s 5th grade students had so much fun kicking off the first day of school with our Marshmallow Tower Challenge! They worked together in teams to design and build the tallest tower they could using spaghetti noodles, tape, toothpicks, string, and a marshmallow to make the tallest tower possible. It was a great way for students to get to know one another, practice teamwork and problem-solving, and start the year with lots of laughter and creativity.

🏈✨ Team Miller had the BEST first day ever! We set goals, made wishes for an amazing school year, and fueled up with a little “Magic Gatorade” to get ready for a championship season of learning! 💙📚

🌈 Ms. Armstrong’s Class WOW Activity 🌈

We read the wonderful book Hope Is a Rainbow and learned how hope, kindness, and encouragement can make a big difference in our classroom and the lives of others.

Tomorrow, we will begin our Hope Jar! Whenever students notice a classmate showing kindness, reaching a goal, helping someone, or sharing a bright idea, they will write it on a colorful slip of paper and add it to the jar. Each Friday, we will read a few notes aloud to celebrate the wonderful things happening in our classroom and encourage one another.

We ended our activity with popcorn as we celebrated the start of a great new school year! 🍿❤️🐼

On the first day of school, Mrs. Records class read the book, The Dot. They discovered that even a little dot can be the start of something amazing!

Loop’s WOW Activity:   Ms. Loop’s class demonstrated on the first day of school that they could reach out to their new classmates and encourage each other after listening to the story ‘The Dot’. These are terrific teammates this year.

Mrs. Verdell and Mrs. Miller’s friends had a great first day.  They had fun playing I Spy to find school supplies in the sensory box!
