A Message from our Principal

Welcome to the Sugar Ridge Elementary School Family!

I am honored for the opportunity to serve as Principal of Sugar Ridge Elementary. As the principal it is important to put kids first in every decision that is made! Our goal at The Ridge is to work together to provide our students with a rigorous and engaging learning environment. My belief is that all students can learn. As educators, we must differentiate our instruction to support diverse learning styles. SRE values uniqueness, creativity, and the leadership ability of all students. My hope is that we will create a learning environment that is positive, safe, caring, as well as a fun place to laugh, learn, and grow.

I began my career in education in the Fall of 2000. I had the privilege of serving as a The Ehlich Family teaching assistant in Spartanburg District Three before moving to Spartanburg District Two in 2004. I taught 5th grade at Boiling Springs Elementary and Boiling Springs Intermediate before serving as an Assistant Principal at Boiling Springs Intermediate. In August of 2013, I became the Principal at Cooley Springs-Fingerville Elementary, and then began a new chapter in my professional journey as Principal of Boiling Springs Intermediate School in 2018. I look forward to beginning the next chapter of my professional journey as the Principal of Sugar Ridge Elementary School.

I obtained my undergraduate degree from Limestone College and my Masters degree in Educational Administration from Furman University.

I married my husband Tan in June of 2000, and we are blessed with two boys, Owen and Griffin. Our family’s favorite pastime is baseball.

My professional goal is to provide children at SRE with the best educational experience possible – one that is building the foundation for a future SC graduate. I am committed to ensuring academic success and social growth while building relationships with students, teachers, parents and community members.

I'm looking forward to the school year! It's going to be a great year! Sugar Ridge Elementary is a great place to laugh, learn, and grow!
